There are many problems leading to you having to do a projector repair on your multimedia LCD/DLP projector. There are many experienced projector repair specialists available that can troubleshoot every problem directly to the source. Below are some of the common problems that get fixed in most cases:
The unit fails to power own or power supply problems
Projector powers up but lamp fails to light
Misaligned pixels or color problems
Sticky focus and zoom controls
Static or distorted images
Unit powers up and then quickly shuts down
Thermal and fan issues, or it shuts down after warming up or moderate use
When taking your multimedia LCD/DLP projector in for a projector repair, you would normally pay a flat fee that will cover the time for doing troubleshooting and estimating the costs for the replacement parts needed. This fee is usually wavered should you decide to get your projector repaired at that specific repair specialist. If you decide against it, you would probably just have to pay the flat fee.
It is also possible to extend the life of your projector by having routine projector maintenance done from time to time. This will usually include the following to be done:
Multi point inspection
Clean & align optics/LCD panel
Clean or replace air filter
Removal of optics contamination
Confirm convergence of LCD panels
Verify color quality
Test all inputs; audio, video and computer imaging
Check keypad for full functionality
Check focus and zoom function of the lens
Below are a few common problems people experience with their projectors, but with a few simple answers to resolve them:
1.My projector is not working when I turn it on: check that the power outlet on the wall has power, and that the projector lamp is fine. If any LED lights flashes on the control panel, check your manual first.
2.I’m getting no signal or picture: when setting up your equipment, make sure you turn on the projector first, and when using a laptop, you may need to disable the computer screen.
3.The screen is scrolling: check that the resolution of the computer is compatible with the resolution of the projector.
4.Remote control won’t work: check that the batteries aren’t weak or dead. Take batteries out when not using the remote.
5.My projector powers off erratically: This problem can be caused by improper seating of the lamp assembly.
